The purpose of the processing will be the monitoring, surveillance and epidemiological control of COVID-19 to prevent and avoid exceptional situations of particular gravity, attending to reasons of essential public interest in the specific field of public health, and for the protection of vital interests of those affected and other natural persons under the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016. Additionally, the data may be used, where appropriate, for the issuance by the competent health authority of certificates of diagnostic tests or vaccination, upon the express and unequivocal request of the data subject or his legal representative. The data collected will be used exclusively for the purposes described.
Those responsible for the processing will be the autonomous communities, the cities of Ceuta and Melilla and the Ministry of Health, within the scope of their respective competences, which will guarantee the application of the mandatory security measures resulting from the corresponding risk analysis, taking into account that the processing affects special categories of data and that such processing will be carried out by public administrations obliged to comply with the National Security Scheme.
The exchange of data with other countries will be governed by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, taking into account Decision No. 1082/2013/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2013 on serious cross-border threats to health and the revised International Health Regulations (2005) adopted by the 58th World Health Assembly held in Geneva on 23 May 2005.
